Annual Wellness Visits, sometimes referred to as Annual Physicals or Complete Wellness Exams, are the foundation on which Primary Care Providers manage your overall health and wellbeing. The goal of Annual Wellness Visits is the early detection, diagnoses and treatment of potentially life-threatening or debilitating illnesses. Early recognition and early treatment guarantee the best possible outcomes. Annual Wellness Visits are a great opportunity to ensure that appropriate screenings and vaccinations are up to date. It also allows for discussing lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise and sleep – things that play an important role in in our overall health and wellbeing. Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance companies cover one Annual Wellness Visit per year, at no cost to you. In many cases an Annual Wellness Visit is required, by your insurance company, to maintain your health insurance coverage. Because the exact types of tests and screenings, i.e. EKGs and X-rays, vary from insurance company to insurance company, Annual Wellness Visits are coordinated with your insurance company prior to services being rendered.
